If you thought the big seven-seat SUVs were “spared” the sporty versions, you were fooled because Mercedes just introduced the current GLS in the AMG 63 edition with over 600 “horses”!

This more than a “family transporter”, in its third generation, has now received a powerful 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo that, combined with the EQ Boost starter alternator, releases as much as 610 horsepower and equally impressive 850Nm of torque.
This allows it to reach ‘100’ from standstill in 4.2 seconds, which is an excellent result for a luxury full-size SUV, while its top speed is limited to 250 km / h, or 280 km / h if the optional AMG Driver’s package.

Power is transmitted via a 9-speed automatic Speedshift 9G transmission to all four wheels within the 4MATIC + system, which can deliver 100% power to the rear axle only, if necessary.

The car is also equipped with the AMG Ride Control + air suspension system, which offers three modes of operation – from Comfort, through Sport and Sport +, where it instantly “switches” to lower ground clearance by 10 mm in the other two vehicles, while “Comfort” lowers in Comfort at speeds exceeding 120 km / h.
